Move Every Checker Home Before Your Opponent
Classic Backgammon brings the traditional board game to the screen with the familiar checkers, dice, and pointed board. Each player starts with fifteen checkers. The aim is to move all of your pieces into your home area and then remove them from the board before your opponent manages to do the same.
The dice decide how far you can move, but luck does not decide everything. Choosing which checker to move can change the whole match.
Use Each Dice Roll Carefully
Each die normally gives you a separate move. A roll of four and two can move one checker four spaces and another two spaces. It can also be used on the same checker when the rules allow it.
Rolling matching numbers gives you a double. A double provides four moves using that number, which can create a big change in only one turn.
Some spaces remain blocked when your opponent has two or more checkers sitting there. This forces you to look for another route.
Send Opposing Pieces to the Bar
A single enemy checker sitting alone on a point is vulnerable. Landing on it sends that checker to the bar.
The opponent must bring the checker back onto the board before moving other pieces. This makes attacking useful, but leaving too many of your own checkers alone can give your opponent the same chance.
That balance gives Classic Backgammon much of its challenge. Moving quickly toward home can help, but protecting important positions also matters.
Play Against the Computer or a Friend
Classic Backgammon includes a computer opponent and a two-player option where two people can take turns on the same device. The mouse or touch controls handle dice rolls and checker movement.
A match can change quickly after one lucky roll, yet good decisions still matter. Blocking spaces, protecting exposed checkers, and knowing when to race toward home all affect the result.
Classic Backgammon keeps the old board-game rules easy to follow on a screen. Roll the dice, plan each move, bring every checker home, and try to bear off your full set before the other player.
