Fight Through the Streets While Doing the Job

Fists of the MeterMaid is a side-scrolling fighting game with an unusual main character and goal. You control Jack, who becomes an extremely determined parking officer after a strange curse. His workday becomes much more dangerous when zombies and angry gangsters fill the streets. Jack still needs to deal with parking violations while fighting his way through four levels.

The game mixes a normal city job with cartoon street fighting. Jack cannot simply walk from one parking meter to another because enemies keep getting in his way.

Punch, Kick, and Keep Moving

Jack can jump, punch, and kick as he travels through each level. Keyboard controls handle his movement and attacks. The goal during a fight is to keep enemies away while avoiding their attacks.

Different situations can require different movement. Staying directly beside several enemies makes Jack easier to hit. Moving away gives you room to turn around and attack again.

The fighting stays easy to understand because Jack relies on basic hand-to-hand moves instead of a long list of complicated actions.

Do Not Forget the Parking Tickets

The strange part of Fists of the MeterMaid is that Jack still has a job to finish. He needs to deliver parking tickets to vehicles that break the rules.

This means fighting enemies is only part of the level. Once the immediate danger disappears, you need to continue along the street and deal with the parked vehicles.

That combination helps the game stand out from a normal fighting game where every stage only asks you to defeat another group of opponents.

Make It Through All Four Levels

Fists of the MeterMaid contains four levels. Zombies and gangsters keep trying to stop Jack as he continues his work.

Good movement helps when several enemies appear together. Punching and kicking without watching their positions can lead to unnecessary damage. Giving yourself a little room makes it easier to deal with one threat at a time.

Fists of the MeterMaid keeps its idea simple and strange at the same time. Move through the city, fight off the attackers, avoid taking too many hits, issue tickets to offending vehicles, and help Jack survive one unusual shift after another.
